Senest forrige uke fikk han en egen økt kalt opp etter seg, selvsagt med masse roing. Remi har kommet en lang vei siden han startet, på 7mnd har han svettet av seg 20 kg og resultatet kan dere se under. Det er bare å bøye seg i støvet, gratulerer med glimrende innsats!</p>

<p><strong>Når og hvorfor begynte du med CrossFit? </strong>Det var Christoph sine overtalelsesevner som fikk meg inn dørene i boxen første gang i slutten av juli &#8217;11. Tre ukers ferie i USA rett før, og generelt sett dårlig form, gjorde at jeg møtte veggen til de grader på Karen på en av mine første økter. Hadde det ikke vært fordi medlemsskapet allerede var signert, hadde jeg nok aldri kommet tilbake igjen.</p>
<p><strong>Hva har CrossFit gjort for deg? </strong>Crossfit har først og fremst gitt meg gnisten tilbake på trening etter flere år med useriøs trening andre steder. Variasjonen i øvelser en en viktig faktor her, men også det gode miljøet. Det ligger snart 20 kg Remi igjen på gulvet i boxen også, så formen er bedre enn på lenge.</p>
<p><strong>Favorittøvelse?</strong> Romaskinen liker jeg meg godt på, men Fran har jeg også fått sansen for i det siste.</p>
<p><strong>Goats? </strong>Etter den grusomme starten Karen ga meg, kan jeg ikke si annet enn wall balls.</p>
<p><strong>Målsetninger? </strong>Naturligvis å komme i bedre form, men på kort sikt skal jeg under 20 min på 5 km løping, runde 400 kg i Crossfit Total og se 12-tallet opp Stoltzen. Helst før sommeren <img src='http://s1.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Pinlige øyeblikk? </strong>Veldig lite pinlige hendelser jeg har opplevd på trening, men hvis jeg først må nevne noe så innrømmer jeg lett at jeg ikke følte meg så høy i hatten da jeg nærmet meg 30 minutter på Karen den ene dagen i juli.</p>

<p>A much better week this week. I feel like the training has been progressing well, and the results that I&#8217;m seeing are motivating me to continue. I&#8217;m averaging about 4 workouts a week, which is working well for me &#8211; enough to see results, but not so much that I&#8217;m burning out either. I&#8217;ve been taking the weights slowly until I get more comfortable with technique etc., but now that that is getting better, I&#8217;ll start increasing the weights a little more. One workout earlier this week (the bear complex) was quite a tough one. Snorre mentioned it was both a physical and mental challenge for that workout, and I really didn&#8217;t understand the mental part of it until I got to the 6th round and just want to drop the bar and rest. That&#8217;s when it was good to have someone there to just tell you to keep going. A tough but successful workout (and considering my morbid fear of bears, a shocking success!).</p>
<p>I&#8217;m having to be a little more creative at work with the lunches due to the apparent permanent removal of cottage cheese from the lunch salad bar. Disappointing, but such is life. The other food challenges that had plagued me last week are thankfully out of the way&#8230;the story behind it was that I had gone out and bought a whole bunch of Norwegian candy for my younger sister to send back to Canada for her birthday. Instead of sending it right away, it sat on my kitchen table, and I proceeded to eat it on occasion&#8230;and then I went out to buy more to replace it, and this process continued (about 4 times I&#8217;m embarassed to say). The lesson for this ongoing incident was that if I&#8217;m going to be kind and send candy to others, know that my self control is next to zero and that the candy must be sent away immediately!</p>

Hun har holdt på i boksen i Sandviken siden mai, og i disse dager gir hun ny mening til konseptet &#8216;ingen grenser&#8217; &#8211;  pregnant Rx er et nøkkelord!<br />

<strong>Når og hvorfor begynte du med CrossFit?</strong> Min første prøvetime hadde jeg en dag i mai etter at Bobbifit hadde overtalt meg til at dette var tingen. Hadde en liten anelse om hva jeg gikk til, men at jeg skulle elske det var jeg uvitende om <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  Er en konkurranseperson på høyt nivå og blir direkte kvalm før klokken settes igang, en herlig følelse som jeg har savnet de siste årene jeg har tråkket rundt på et treningssenter.</p>
<p><strong>Hva har CrossFit gjort for deg?</strong> Gir meg muligheten til å utfordre meg selv uten begrensninger, det er alltid en ny øvelse som må inn eller en tid å slå. En får med jevne mellomrom den mestringsfølelsen når en presterer som for meg er en stor drivkraft og god følelse å kjenne på og bygge selvtillit av. Det holder meg også i form <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  Lysten på å spise og leve sunt. Jeg tror at mitt svangerskap har vært så ukomplisert også pga crossfit. Har ikke hatt noe problemer og nå er jeg 30 uker (6.5mnd) på vei. Håper det fortsetter <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  Miljøet på TIC gjør det utrolig motiverende å stille på trening dag etter dag. Og gutta boys har vært utrolige med tanke på min gravide kropp. De har brukt timer på å lese og sette seg inn i hva og hvordan det skal gjøres i min situasjon. Har følt meg kjempetrygg på alle timene. Det har enda ikke vært en økt jeg ikke har kunnet vært med på! PRX (pregnant Rx) <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  </p>
<p><strong>Favorittøvelse?</strong> Hmmm&#8230; Ingen favoritt men DL og Backsquat er noe jeg føler meg veldig trygg på. Teknikken sitter og her jobber jeg bare med å løfte tyngre. Blir ofte forelsket i de nye øvelsene en plutselig får til. Som mine første pull-ups med kipping uten strikk!! Jeg håpet at øvelsen skulle være på alle wod&#8217;ene og hang i stangen så ofte jeg kunne.</p>
<p><strong>Goats?</strong> Goats har vi alle og jeg har SÅ mange!!! Men nå som jeg er gravid får jeg ikke jobbet med dem. HSPU og ringdips er noe jeg knoter med og vegrer meg for å gjøre, men skal ta opp kampen etter babyen er født <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Målsetninger?</strong> Målet er å mestre alle øvelsene som skulle dukke opp på en WOD, så jeg kan kjøre RX hele veien. Akkurat nå tar jeg PRX på så mye som mulig <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Pinlige øyeblikk?</strong> Kommer dessverre ikke på NOEN pinlige øyeblikk..????!</p>

		<description><![CDATA[As we&#8217;re progressing further into the project things are starting to get tougher, as Jeff is reminded of this week. Motivation in general has a tendency to fluctuate and keeping a healthy approach doesn&#8217;t always come without a cost. <em>As we&#8217;re progressing further into the project things are starting to get tougher, as Jeff is reminded of this week. Motivation in general has a tendency to fluctuate and keeping a healthy approach doesn&#8217;t always come without a cost. Sometimes life just gets in the way, as with Jeff&#8217;s traveling, and one has to make additional effort to stay on track. With time however, this will get a lot easier as it becomes second nature. Until then, conscious effort is paramount.</em></p>
<p>I can’t say it was a great week for me. I haven’t been sleeping well since last Friday and really just have no energy to do anything.  Not sure what’s going on, but hopefully it resolves itself soon. The training has been good though, but the food definitely needs some improvement! I’ve been exhausted and rather lazy in making proper meals, but I’m hoping to catch up on some rest this weekend and get back into the swing of things. There will be some more difficulties in the middle of February as I’ll be traveling to Trondheim for 4 days, a day back in Bergen, then 3 days in Stavanger. I’m trying to plan for this and I’ve got training booked for the days immediately leading up to the travels, for the day back, and I’ll book for as soon as I get back from Stavanger as well.</p>

<p><strong>Når og hvorfor begynte du med CrossFit?</strong> En dag i september møtte jeg en kamerat. Han var så stiv og støl i kroppen at du kunne se det lang vei. Dagen i forveien hadde han hadde blitt med Roland på This is CrossFit. Jeg hadde aldri hørt om CrossFit før og skjønte ikke hva det innebar å gjøre Bear Crawls i gresset. Etter å ha undersøkt litt nærmere, så fant jeg ut at dette var noe jeg hadde lyst til å prøve. Det virket både krevende og artig, samtidig som jeg fikk et inntrykk av at det ga gode resultater.</p>
<p><strong>Hva har CrossFit gjort for deg?</strong> Jeg merker at CrossFit har en fin tendens til å øke treningslysten hos folk. Hviledager er kjipe. Jeg har aldri hatt problemer med å finne motivasjon til å gå og trene, men nå synes jeg det er ekstra givende. Siden jeg begynte i oktober har kondisjonen kommet seg betraktelig og jeg føler det er bedre balanse i kroppsmassen. CrossFit har også bydd på et ekstremt godt treningsmiljø med masse kjekke mennesker jeg kan trene med, og noen ganger i mot. <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Favorittøvelse?</strong> CrossFit har introdusert meg for mange nye øvelser. Det er alltid kjekt med øvelser der du ser forbedring og hvordan kroppen reagerer på nye bevegelser. Jeg liker godt de øvelsene hvor jeg føler at jeg bruker mye av kroppen. Thrusters for eksempel.</p>
<p><strong>Goats?</strong> Jeg har et par Goats, heldigvis blir de færre med tiden. Jeg er fremdeles langt i fra fantastisk flink på ubrutte double-unders. Jeg kan ikke fordra å løpe 5K, mest fordi jeg enda har en del å hente på kondisjonen. Skal jeg trekke frem en mer typisk CrossFit-øvelse, er den første jeg kommer til å tenke på; Turkish Get-ups. Det er en øvelse som krever styrke, balanse og konsentrasjon, og som gir vonde knær.</p>
<p><strong>Målsetninger?</strong> Jeg har en målsetning om å komme meg opp på et nivå der jeg klarer å kjøre Rx på alle øvelser. Dette vil kreve et godt stykke arbeid, da jeg har et par muskelgrupper og teknikker jeg må jobbe noe med. Jeg har også en målsetning om å holde treningen gående i mange år fremover.</p>
<p><strong>Pinlige øyeblikk?</strong> Jeg droppet en stang i gulvet en gang når jeg var &#8216;fersk&#8217;, uten vekter på. Det var øktens siste øvelse, jeg var supersliten og hjernen hadde tydeligvis tatt kveld. Da fikk jeg litt kjeft, bare litt, men det var likevel pinlig. Har ellers klart å la være å drite meg ut, foreløpig.</p>

In between skiing at Whistler and Blackcomb, killing time really isn&#8217;t an issue in a place that caters to every need, and I mean *every* need, as long as you can pay for it. The money around here is just ridiculous. But,  I&#8217;m not too fussed about it all, I&#8217;m happy as long as I get to do crossfit, and lucky me &#8211; Crossfit Whistler is just a short busride away down at Creekside.  (The busrides themselves are interesting in this place, on my first trip the driver failed to let me off as he was too busy smoking up&#8230; seems everyone is high around this place <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' />  )</p>
<p>Crossfit Whistler is run by Jordan and Steve, and has about 60 members. The actual box itself is quite small, at least by the standards I&#8217;m used to, but with a maximum of 10 people to each class it works out quite well. They also have a somewhat different design to their classes starting with a set warmup, then mobility exercises, then strength workout and finally a 10-12 minute metcon.</p>

<p>The first day I was there we did benchpress for the first part, 5-5-3-3-1-1-1 and I ended up with a 62,5kg max. I was aiming for 65 but the guy spotting me was a little too eager to help, so I&#8217;ll have to have a go at it some other time. Then we did Fran, and although I was aiming for sub 6 minutes, I was quite happy with finishing at 6.20 considering I&#8217;d had a tough day skiing. </p>
<p>For my second workout we started off with back squat, again 5-5-3-3-1-1-1. Definitely not what I was hoping for after 4 straight days on the slopes, but hey, I managed 80kg and still had some to go. The metcon was a 12 minute AMRAP of 10 pistols, 10 wallballs and 10 SDHP (32/24kg). Substituting pistols with pullups, I got nearly 7 rounds. </p>
<p>Unfortunately the box closes for the weekend due to a weightlifting competition down in Vancouver so I&#8217;ll have to join my mate David at the regular gym. Starting Monday though I&#8217;ll be back in the box sweating it out with the locals, good times good times!</p>

<p>This week has been a tough one with the training, but I seemed to have made it through with most body parts intact. I&#8217;ve been slightly concerned about overdoing the training too much in the beginning, but since I&#8217;m feeling relatively good right now, I&#8217;ll continue with the plan of 4 times a week. If I feel like I&#8217;m burning out, then I&#8217;ll back off for a little while so that I&#8217;m sure I can keep on going.</p>
<p>There is still a case of the missing cottage cheese at the work canteen (none this week at all), so I&#8217;ve had to make up for it by adding some extra shrimp to my lunch for some protein. Tastes good, but costs me extra $$ (or rather, kr??). I&#8217;ve found that during my routine in the week, the food I eat is really clean, and then it slips a little when the weekend hits. It doesn&#8217;t seem to have had much of an impact on my progress so far though, and speaking of progress, I&#8217;m noticing some! It&#8217;s probably only noticeable to me at this point, but any form of improvement is always a motivator to keep on going. The attached pic is of the workout on Tuesday…ohh it was a tough one (managed 2 rounds + 16 deadlifts).</p>

<strong>Når og hvorfor begynte du med CrossFit?</strong> Første gang eg prøvde crossfit var når CFB holdt til i lokalene til Kampsport Bergen. Det var sånn ca. 2-3 uker før de startet i de lokalene de er per i dag. Tok turen igjen den første uka de åpnet i de lokalene og har vært der siden. Startet med det fordi eg e ein person som er litt rastlaus av natur og trenger alltid noe nytt å hige etter &#8211; og dette e første gang eg ikke har blitt lei av treningen eg driver med fordi det e så variert og utfordrende!!!</p>
<p><strong>Hva har CrossFit gjort for deg?</strong> Crossfit har gjort meg definitivt sterkere <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' />  Fra å gå fra løping 2-3-ganger i uka og litt sporadisk styrketrening av knebøy, benk og markløft så har styrken kommet seg ENORMT!!! Men må igjen nevne at den sosiale biten på CFB e noe utenom det vanlige og eg har aldri hatt det så sosialt på et treningsstudio tidligere (selv om crossfit ikke er et treningsstudio ;P Det er så mange ulike personer, men likevel har jentene det samme målet og det e sjelden ein ser på et treningsstudio <img src='http://s2.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif' alt=':P' class='wp-smiley' />  Her e det jenter som vil det lille ekstra og nå nye mål heila tidå og det e sykt motiverende for alle <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Favorittøvelse?</strong> Favorittøvelser begynne det å bli ein del av ettersom ein begynne å beherske dem <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  Men believe it or not eg digge Thrusters <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' />  og så komme squats, abmat sit-ups med medisinball (effektiv!!!), markløft, american kb swings, pull-ups med kip, løping.</p>
<p><strong>Goats?</strong> Ka ende ska eg begynna på??? Får ikkje te effektive T2B, alt som har med stang og KB over hodet (press/push press/snatch) og så har eg fortsatt ein del igjen på stricte pull-ups :S Og så stå på en hånd <img src='http://s2.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif' alt=':P' class='wp-smiley' />  Må jo også nevne PUSH-UPS!!!! Det er vel egentlig den verste øvelsen jeg vet om. Når jeg startet med crossfit for over ett år siden klarte eg så vidt å ta 5 på knær, nå klarer eg 5 vanlige, men i wod så e det pin umulig. Då blir det ofte vanlig ned og så på knær når eg skal opp igjen. Så det er den største Goats&#8217;en min!!! Og så burpees!!! Første 5 er raske, men fra den 6. og videre så e det så treigt at det bare e latterlig <img src='http://s2.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif' alt=':P' class='wp-smiley' />  Er inne i en styrkeperiode med ei venninne, der vi kjørte Wendler før jul og nå e vi inne i 3. uke med ny periode av Wendler og det merkes at vi har blitt sterkere &#8211; noe som er supergøy <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' />  Så derfor håpe eg at eg kjører alle wods som Rx innen juni i år <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  T2B og one hand stand håper eg å få til innen april <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Pinlige øyeblikk?</strong> Kan ikke ta igjen noen spesielle øyeblikk mtp enkelte øvelser eller noe, men det var ein gang tidlig mai i fjor der eg ga opp under økten og gikk hjem. Da hadde eg hatt 3 harde økter de tre dagene før og det endte med at eg ikke viste meg før 6 dager senere. Godt mulig det ikke er en big deal for andre, men for meg som e ein løsningsorientert person og som aldri gir opp var dette et pinlig øyeblikk. Nå har eg lært meg å ta treningsfri når kroppen e trøtt og harde økter dag etter dag lønner seg aldri.</p>
<p><strong>You know you&#8217;re a crossfitter when&#8230; </strong>you stop several times during your run to do squats, push-ups, box jumps, hspu, lunges etc as it is the most normal thing to do.<strong><br />

<p>Saturday and time for a visit to the box. I was out last night celebrating the end of 9 years at uni, but never gave restday a proper thought. How foolish of me. Hamish had planned an awful WOD:</p>
<p>20 pullups<br />
200m walking lunge<br />
sprint 200m<br />
100 mountain climbers<br />
sprint 200m<br />
50 burpees<br />
sprint 200m<br />
150 squats<br />
sprint 200m<br />
75 push ups<br />
sprint 200m<br />
100 DU&#8217;s</p>
<p>The 20 pullups were fine, then 200m lunges were quite tough and if it wasn&#8217;t for Mikus in front I&#8217;d have been a lot slower. Mountain climbers, burpees and squats I split into 10&#8242;s and that worked fine, then 75 pushups got the better of me. I started off 5 at a time, but for the last 25 I had to focus on 1 and 2 at a time. Definitely good for mental practice. The last 200 m sprint were a laugh after that and finally I also split the DU&#8217;s into 10&#8242;s &#8211; shoulders were spent after the previous exercises.</p>
<p>These long workouts are no fan of mine, especially when they involve running, but I suppose it&#8217;s good to step out of your comfort zone from time to time&#8230; I found myself hating every second of the workout, and wasn&#8217;t particularly fulfilled when I finished either, but that&#8217;s life. Suck it up. Some of the lads did very well, they&#8217;re definitely improving fast, same goes for the girls. Well done!</p>

<p>After a weekend with a few too many desserts (oops), I got back into the swing of things the rest of the week, and went to the WODs 4 times (Sat/Mon/Wed/Fri).  The first couple of WODs were pretty intense, and a little longer than I anticipated (Hello 300 workout), but I felt pretty good after each one of them, although I have to say I&#8217;m a little sore after the squat workout yesterday.  But, no pain, no gain, right?  I&#8217;ve got workouts planned 4 days next week, so here&#8217;s hoping my body can keep up <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />   I haven&#8217;t really noticed a decrease in my weight at all, but I feel my body beginning to change a bit – this part I&#8217;m really looking forward to.</p>
<p>The cottage cheese was back in its place in the canteen at work this week, which made me a happy camper.  Despite the desserts, I think overall I&#8217;m eating a lot cleaner than I used to, and I&#8217;m learning to experiment with food so that while it&#8217;s healthy, it&#8217;s not boring.</p>
